If Atiku Contests With Obi Or Amaechi, Tinubu Will Be Gone — Dele Momodu

Media entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu has stirred fresh political debate after stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could lose power if a strong opposition alliance emerges ahead of the next presidential election.

Momodu made the comment while discussing the possibility of opposition leaders forming a coalition to challenge the ruling party in the next general election. According to him, Nigeria’s opposition figures have enough political influence and voter support to defeat the current administration if they unite behind a common candidate.

He specifically mentioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, and former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi as key political figures capable of reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape if they work together.

According to Momodu, if Atiku contests the presidency with the support or partnership of either Obi or Amaechi, it could significantly weaken Tinubu’s chances of securing another victory.

He argued that the major challenge facing opposition parties in Nigeria has always been division. When influential candidates run separately under different political parties, the opposition vote becomes fragmented, making it easier for the ruling party to retain power.

Momodu therefore stressed the importance of political cooperation, saying that a united opposition front would stand a much stronger chance against the ruling establishment.

He also noted that forming such a coalition would require serious negotiations, compromise, and agreement among the political leaders involved, especially regarding leadership roles and party structures.

The comments have since sparked conversations among political observers and supporters of the various political parties, with many debating the possibility of a united opposition ahead of the next election cycle.

As Nigeria moves closer to another round of national elections, discussions around alliances, political strategies, and potential candidates are expected to intensify across the country.
